Waitress was completely disengaged. We had questions about the menu and she was dismissive in her response. Simply stated what the ingredients were but no detail about how prepared. When further asked she was snippy. We asked about wine pairing, she told us they didn’t have a set pairing menu but they would proved suggestions. She took our order for a cocktail before dinner and never asked again Courses were delivered but our waitress never once checked in to ask if things were ok. We did not see her again until we were finishing up the main course. Both my daughter and husbands pork chop was very overcooked. It was ordered med rare and was delivered med well and quite dry. 90% of it was not eaten. She asked if they wanted the chef to cook another meal but it was way too late The courses were mediocre. Nothing was memorable except the lime custard dessert Dessert was delivered but not by our waitress, never offered the ability to order any other beverages, coffee, after dinner drink, nothing Thoroughly underwhelmed and very disappointed
One of the best places we’ve ever been. The views, the staff and the food are stunning . Cannot recommend The Post Ranch Inn enough .
It was a drizzly rainy day and we had a pleasant drive up Big Sur. The restaurant is tucked into the woods and is a lovely setting. My granddaughters, daughter in law and I were on Christmas vacation and this was our first visit to the area. This restaurant came highly recommended to me and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious with a beautiful presentation style. The swordfish and roasted vegetables were beautiful and delicious! The burger was good too. Memorable experience!
Our total meal cost $500 and it was the worst money I’ve ever spent. Maybe we’re spoiled eating at amazing places in NYC and London, but the food was soooo incredibly average it felt like canteen food to be honest…almost like they read a catalog of what fine dining looks like and then copied the pictures super unimaginative, very dry, etc. I ended up having to complain about the dry wedge of squash I got sent as my starter and I’ve never done that in my LIFE. I think this place is a nice hotel, with wonderful staff, and with insane views but the food is honestly such poor value I felt sick about it after the meal. The only redeeming dish was the beef which was nicely cooked. But for $145 a person, this was not it.
