Downham Hall - Billericay

We had a lovely afternoon celebrating my friend's birthday. The restaurant made the occasion extra special by creating a "Happy Birthday" sign and serving a glass of prosecco. They even included a beautiful note.

Last Friday, we had a wonderful lunch at Downham Hall. We received a warm welcome upon our arrival and were shown to our table. After enjoying some drinks and delicious snacks, we made our selections for the 3-course lunch. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted incredible—kudos to the chef! We also had the chance to explore the other rooms as well as the grounds and marquee. I highly recommend this place!

The restaurant boasts a beautiful setting and delightful cuisine. We had reserved a table for afternoon tea and were greeted warmly upon our arrival. Our table by the window offered a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape. The afternoon tea was exquisitely presented, featuring fresh homemade items that each had a unique twist. The tea was abundant and was generously refilled as needed, leaving us quite full at the end—we couldn't quite finish everything. The house-made macarons were delicious, and the egg dish was incredibly tasty. We highly recommend a visit and look forward to returning for lunch or dinner.

Great place to eat, lovely atmosphere and views over garden and countryside. Beautiful building, comfortable and relaxing with an air of elegance. Excellent food and service. Looking forward to returning.
