Definitely worth a visit The food is outstanding Staff very pleasant Definitely ideal if you are visiting the hare and hounds across the road for a live music gig As the service is very quick Absolutely delicious food !

Popped in here before a gig down the road. Good choice! Very pleasant and quick service, lovely food (had the “Railway” chicken curry which was great). I’m from Nottingham so not local but when in the area again won’t hesitate to re-visit!

What a shame. Have enjoyed drinking at Grace and James many times and we thought we would try the food. Such a disappointment. Everything seemed to be coated in salt. I'm not sure why the level of salt is this high but it was remarkable that all four of us felt it was an overload on every course and we ordered different dishes including profiteroles desert.... We didn't have anyone come to check on the food and so after 15 minutes I finally managed to flag down someone to take back the confit duck away complete with it's french fries so salty and dry it was inedible. They didn't offer an alternative or ask if our party wanted an alternative dish. So our friend went without a main. When we paid they left the dish on the menu and we pointed out the mistake they then tried to say they had a policy of not refunding dishes that were not sent back immediately. We couldn't even be bothered by this point to explain to them how this imaginary policy is in contravention of law and their service by default would have rendered this policy ridiculous. So we gave them the choice of nothing or taking the dish we didn't eat off the bill. They took the latter option. It's interesting reading other reviews on here because their experience matched ours and the attitude experienced in the restaurant is replicated in their salty replies to customers. It's sad not to now be able to recommend them. We like supporting local businesses but with this experience unfortunately we won't be going back or recommending them. What a shame.
