Amazing food, accomodation and staff! Dishes well thought out and paced presentation to keep you interested but not overwhelmed. Accomodation is next level with room in both time and space to relax and enjoy the well thought out ammenities. Highly recommended to go for a walk the morning after to explore where your food came from yesterday. Rooms: 5
Astonishingly good. Good food was expected but the service was flawless and rooms were way above expectations, the record selection for the turntable was great. Our only minor point of contention was maybe too few Australian wines in the matched set, all good selections but I am sure an extra Aussie or two would fit in. Rooms: 5 Service: 5
I drove 1000km from Sydney to visit this place for my birthday. Natural fine dining using crops grown directly using eco-friendly farming methods, some cooking skills, well-balanced and delicious food, and it was nice to take a walk in the garden between meals. Overall, it was a good experience. Brae is a great restaurant and I respect Dan Hunter's philosophy, but was it really worth the distance to find it? I hesitate to answer that question. It is definitely a place worth visiting at least once if you live in Melbourne. Because we pursue eco-friendliness, there are many restrictions on cooking, but we can make sauce by fermenting various ingredients, and it would be nice to include more creative elements as well as the freshness of the ingredients. The staff was friendly and the table service was good, but as it was my birthday, I was disappointed that I wasn't provided with a postcard, piece of cake, or even a candle.
