Macker Backer - Black Earth

Awesome restaurant with great service. Tons of unique Mac and cheese options served in a bread bowl. The food is high quality and large portions. Brisket was incredible. We were really impressed and wish this place was closer to home! Highly recommended, even if it is out of your way!

My sister and our husbands walked in and they asked what we wanted breakfast or lunch, we all said breakfast. Then the hostess/waitress said well you better hurry up you’ve only got eight minutes. Then she went to the back and told to cook and the cook angrily said with a better hurry up. Terrible customer service we would never ever ever go there again. We got up and left

Came here Sunday afternoon at 5. I got a menu, brought it outside, but wife and I decided to eat inside. As we were coming in a huge group came in at the *same time*. I understand that the other group was seated first, as they walked in, in front of us (as I said we all came in at the same time), but the waitress had given me a menu 5 minutes before we and this group had come I was there first to be clear I had made it clear that we already knew what we wanted to order when we first talked to the waitress, and she blew me off to attend to the other take first. It was just my wife and I and small child, 3 items shouldn't be an issue. The waitress took the other 6 person group's drink orders, brought then all drinks, took their order, gave the order to the kitchen, this was before she even came to our table. There was one other table in the entire place, it was one guy, and he had already ordered before any of us had come in. I understand that it was short staffed that day, but it's just plain rude to leave us in the lurch, while diligently attending to another group that had come in at the same time. It's not even a logical way to give service. I certainly hope my wife's ethnicity had nothing to do with this, and it was just poor wait service, but in any case, we won't be trying this rude place anytime while that waitress is working there.

This family-owned restaurant is what I most appreciate about small town America. If you're passing through Black Earth, stop and have some breakfast here with your family. Super low prices, fantastic portions.

Amazing food served hot and fresh! We had the Wisconsin Brat mac and cheese, and the brisket sandwich. Worth a visit.
