Cooks Country Kitchen - Blairsville

Before planning our trip to Blairsville for hiking and camping, we looked into nearby dining options and decided we wanted to try this restaurant for breakfast based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, we visited on a Wednesday morning, and it seemed they weren’t serving breakfast that day—perhaps due to COVID restrictions, though I'm not sure. The restaurant features a lovely mini-buffet-style section where you can choose a meat and two sides, which appeared to be a popular choice among other diners. We might give that a try on our next visit. The food we did have was simple, yet very well prepared.

A fantastic spot for a quick lunch! I visited with a friend, another couple, and her daughter, and we all had a wonderful experience. The waitress—whose name I wish I'd caught—was lovely, and the food arrived hot and delicious. The fried mushrooms were a standout appetizer; I was surprised to find they were whole mushrooms! I ordered the seafood platter, which included flounder, shrimp, and mussels, served with onion rings and fries. The onion rings were just how I like them, and the hand-cut fries were delicious. The seafood was also excellent. My friend enjoyed a massive cheeseburger made with fresh patties and fries. Another friend had the chicken fried steak, which he raved about, and he even insisted I try the gravy on some toast—it was fantastic! Everything was great, and I really wish I weren't on vacation so I could go back. If we return for another holiday, this place will definitely be on our list of places to visit!

The pork chops here are thick and incredibly tender—some of the best I've ever had! The service is friendly and quick, which adds to the overall great experience. However, I did have one concern: I noticed the cook coming to the counter a few times with another employee, and I don't remember seeing anyone wash their hands. He touched the money and the counter, and that made me a bit uneasy. I'm not saying for sure that anything improper happened, but it left me with some doubts.

Spent the weekend about 45 minutes away with family and literally randomly chose to end our trip at Cooks before heading in opposite directions across the country, and I Don't think we could have picked a better place for our departure meal. The staff was amazing, even though we showed up 30 minutes early for lunch. They never miss feel like we were imposing or putting them out in any way, when in reality, we know we were. They were all amazing, friendly, and it really helped set the vibe for the last meal we all had before heading out after what was already a great weekend. Absolutely recommend to anybody in the area.

Belinda was amazing... We absolutely loved her. She was so kind and precious to us. The food was A-mazing for real. Home cooked veggies and the best fried mushrooms and pickles I have ever eaten. Definitely recommend this friendly, comfortable, and warm restaurant.
