If you like Pho this is your spot in Fairbanks, would also recommend the Bahn Mi.
It's good to eat Vietnamese noodles in Fairbanks, but compared to the Vietnamese noodle restaurant in my neighborhood near Sacramento, I thought I was going to pass out when I saw the amount of meat and vegetables that were incomparable. The meat and vegetables were exactly less than half of those in my neighborhood. What was even more surprising was when I saw the bill. $18.50 If you ask me if I would come back to this restaurant, I would rather have spicy Korean ramen at home or in the car.
I love Vietnamese food. The Pho House is the only Vietnamese in the Fairbanks area. The taste is pretty authentic however the portions are fairly small. I ordered the Original Pho Noodle Soup. There was a lack of beef and a normal serving of noodles. For the Large bowl expect only an extra serving of broth. The service is mediocre at best. It depends on the day and who is there when it comes to attentiveness. It takes a bit to get someone’s attention. If you’re into Vietnamese food then The Pho House is your only place that serves it.
Edit: 4/20 Flavor, not the same any more! Service was not good! Our fresh roll was given to another table no apologies or anything but the table behind us was told that the fresh roll was not theirs but if they want to continue to eat it go ahead it’s on the house! We got our noodles first but waited quite a while for the fresh rolls. We were there first but people that order before us got their food first. I usually tip 15% to 20% but that day not even a dime. I will not be going there again! Honestly before you work at an Asian restaurant you should at least know the difference between egg rolls and fresh roll or spring rolls!
