Iversen's Bakery - Blue Island

The donuts, rolls, and pastries are incredibly fresh and delicious! I ordered a dozen for my office, and everyone loved their choices. The customer service was fantastic as well. The woman who assisted me was very friendly and eager to help, offering suggestions and showing me all the options available. I can’t wait to come back for another dozen!

However, there is a downside: they sometimes run out of items or don't consistently offer certain breads. I recommend calling ahead to confirm they have what you want to avoid disappointment, as I experienced. In my case, the lady mentioned they weren't making a particular bread and didn’t know when they would have it available. That was surprising, especially since so many people rave about it. I also tried a cupcake, which was just okay—not enough to make me want to go back for it. But the cookies were definitely good! Next time, I’ll make sure to call before I visit to confirm the availability of the items I want, and I’ll be sure to try more baked goods.

I’ve tried many pastries here, including cakes, muffins, and cookies, but none have really stood out to me. Overall, they were pretty mediocre. However, I recently tried their limited-edition cherry frosted donut, and it was incredible! It melted in my mouth and was absolutely delicious.

Love this place, everything from the doughnuts to the cakes are great. One of the best Atomic cakes in the area.
