It was expensive for basic Italian. Ragazza Bella Napoli have far superior food at similar and cheaper prices. Won't be going back. With a party of 11 it cost $350, $35 a head with no appetizer, no drinks and 2 deserts and 2 kids meals. A rip off.
Today was Mother's Day and we were reminded why we don't usually go out on this day. But we have gone to other restaurants in the past on Mother's Day and got GREAT service. So it's really no excuse. I am super disappointed in Brio. I expected much more than what I got today..We were brought upstairs (the hostess seemed really confused too), and sat us outside in full sun. There were at least 4 tables not bused, so I didn't see an option to move to shade. Our calamari was drowning in sauces and soggy. Not really enough for the 4 of us anyway. The kids wouldn't eat it and too expensive for what we got.It took a really long time to get bread. It was just enough for each of us to have one piece. We never got any more after that. And after waiting as long as we were waiting, we should have had more! Sitting in the sun makes you thirsty and water refills were very limited. We had no napkins or flatware so I went inside and found what we needed. (So did the people at the next table). Our food took one full hour after we ordered. We were about ready to walk out and probably would have if we weren't so hungry. Our food came just in time. My son's chicken parmesan barely had any sauce and the spaghetti was hard like it had been sitting out. My food was ok but lukewarm. The sever never checked on us..pretty much the whole time we waited. She just seemed to have disappeared at some point. Someone different brought us water and our check. Somehow my husband still left a decent tip despite being in a bad moodTo summarize, this lunch was way too expensive for what we got. There are so many other choices (much cheaper) and I'm guessing if you sit upstairs outside, you will get ignored.Again, I understand it was Mother's Day and I was understanding (mostly) but it was a huge disappointment and we probably won't be back.
We've been long time customers of Brio. This visit it appeared to have really gone downhill. The first impression was menus laying all over the check in stand, cleaning products and the girl checking everyone in didn't appear to be trained real well. There wasn't clean silverware. We had to wait for it to be cleaned. Our waitress did a good job with what she had to work with. Just seemed chaotic and unkept.
We had reservations for Mother's Day at 12:30pm. Did not have to wait long to be seated. Service was very poor. Took 1.5 hours to get our food. Balcony view was the best part of the meal. Food was ok. Might return when not a major event.
This was me and my wife's first time dining in to Cafe Brio and we were very excited as we walked down Nichols street. We were a little put off initially by the hostess because she seemed to be a little flat and indifferent to us. We followed her to our table only to find that it was still dirty and we had to wait a moment. We decided we wanted to sit at another table in the corner and when we got there it was also dirty. We waited a few seconds for her to clean it and then we sat down.Thankfully our server was a great communicator and knew the menu well he brought us back into a happy mood.We ordered grilled salmon fresco. The food was good.
