Sizeable property and our room was on the first floor no elevator so be prepared to carry bags up one external flight of stairs (no offer made to us to help with our luggage). Staff offered virtually no interaction with us other than to check us in. We ate at the adjoining restaurant very friendly couple and food was simple but tasty no alcohol on menu. No breakfast available at this property or in the restaurant. You will need to use one of the few places in Bluff if you want breakfast (we didn't bother and ate in Moab later on). Room was spacious and quiet. A good night's sleep and no complaints but nothing special either. OK for one night for our purposes.
We arrived at 10:30 a.m. while traveling on a road from Arizona. We had called ahead a few hours in advance to inform them of our delay and to see if they could prepare something for us to eat, but we were told that the restaurant closes at 9:30 a.m. When we arrived, we found the establishment closed and had to wait until 1:30 a.m. to receive the keys, with no prior arrangements or communication. The cabin was old and eerie, with a price comparable to a 4-star hotel. We ended up paying the same amount as our friends who stayed in a more modern building. We woke up early, hungry, and hoping for a continental breakfast, but none was served. The location was in the middle of nowhere, with the only nearby place serving breakfast not opening until 9 a.m., making it impossible for early risers like us to have a meal. Additionally, the place was a 1-hour drive from Monument Valley. Despite being experienced travelers, we found the experience embarrassing. We recommend that the management and staff take a basic hospitality management course.
My wife and I spent three nights here in the desert rose resort beginning juni. what a great place and a beautiful surprise to find such a luxury in the monumental valley area of Southeast Utah. we had a court king room in the separate building, and it was so quiet! it was a short walk over the parking lot to duke’s steakhouse for dinner one night (consume that they do not serve breakfast or lunch) and a short drive to the city to other restaurants (as stated, there are very limited restaurants in bluff.) the city bluff is about 40 minutes north of monument valley and the trip is one of the most spectacular in the country. whether you visit mw or one of the many national denkmäler and state parks in the opposite (goosenecks state park, natural bridges national monument, hovenweep national monument, valley of the gods, navajo tribal park), they are within 90 minutes of what makes this part of utah so special. desert rose resort is highly recommended!
It was nice to find an upgraded resort in the middle of southern Utah that was a great value. The room was comfortable and clean and well appointed. We had the handicapped room next to the lobby with a ramp to get to that level so I didn't have to walk far. Coffee available in lobby so didn't have to make it in the room. No breakfast served at their restaurant so we went to the only breakfast cafe in town.
Spent six nights here with a rafting trip between the 5th and 6th night. Wonderful hotel with top marks for my important metrics clean, quiet, and comfortable. The best feature of this place is the amazing staff. Literally everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Gus, the maintenance guy was super helpful when were had a dead car battery. Every interaction with the front desk staff and the housekeepers was absolutely fantastic. Very, very impressive. They're doing a lot of things right here. Would definitely stay there again!
