However, I am saddened to say that I have noticed a decline in the quality and consistency of the food over the past 6 months. The first indication of this was when I found Italian style macaroni in my Tom Yum soup, which was strange but still tasted fine. Subsequently, I encountered issues with every order, such as overcooked and acrid crispy fish, rubbery chicken satays, sinewy proteins in fried rice and noodle dishes, and sauces that were either too salty or too sweet. Even the simple Thai iced tea was way too strong and bitter to enjoy. Our last meal there was by far the worst of 2021. Despite trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, it seems that the restaurant is struggling to maintain the quality of their signature dishes. It seems that there may have been a change in ownership that has affected the overall experience. At this point, we can no longer justify dining here when there are plenty of other great options in Boca. It's the end of an era for us, but we will cherish the good memories we had at Bangkok Thai.
Unfortunately, Bangkok Thai has changed ownership and it is reflected in the quality of the food. For the past seven years, we have been dining at Bangkok Thai on every trip to Boca. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic and parking lot construction, we continued to order takeout. However, tonight will be our last order. We started with the spring roll appetizer and Tom Kha soup with tofu, which were decent. The Tom Kha had fresh mushrooms, green and red peppers, tomato chunks, and green onions. For our main dishes, Rick had the red curry with beef, which tasted more like tomato soup with coconut milk and was surprisingly bland for their medium spice level. The beef was also a bit tough. I ordered the Chicken Basil Leaf, expecting the usual flavorful brown chili paste sauce that typically accompanies this dish. Unfortunately, tonight's sauce was thin, red, and lacking in flavor. While it smelled good and the veggies were fresh, the overall taste was disappointing. I only ate half of my entree, hoping to add some spicy flavors tomorrow to make it more palatable. It is with regret that I can no longer recommend Bangkok Thai.
I was disappointed to find that this restaurant was not busy on a Saturday night. They are following COVID guidelines for safety. The spicy salad was incredibly tasty and full of flavor, especially when paired with squid. I highly recommend it! The crispy duck was also incredibly juicy and delicious. It comes with a side of rice, though you may not even need it given the generous amount of veggies and duck you receive. Overall, it was a delightful experience. Thank you.
This was a decent Thai spot. The service was great, but the food was mediocre. The best part of the meal was the Tom Kha soup, which is the only dish I would come back for. The pad Thai was way too sweet and saucey. The spring rolls and the potstickers were generic. I would try other Thai spots before coming back to this one.
We found the food in this place disappointing. Definitely, not worth the price we paid for dinner. The staff is welcoming and friendly. It is a clean casual restaurant. The other thing good I can say about the place is that the canned soda is $1.50. The coconut shrimp appetizer was good. Though the farm raised shrimp were kind of small for $8.95. The Tom Yum soup was a bit spicy but tasted ok. My friend had the Chicken Pad Thai which was below average. It was not bursting with authentic Thai flavors and was not well prepared. I had the pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp was horrible. I noticed it in the very first bite. I really should have sent it back. It was mushy, chicken and shrimp were overcooked, and the seasoning tasted really horrible. There were maybe 2 or 3 small chunks of pineapple in the whole dish. It was the worst fried rice I have ever had in my life. I had a serious upset stomach to put it politely 5 minutes after I left the restaurant. .
