It was his birthday weekend and we decided to treat ourselves to takeout from this new Indian restaurant near our home. I say "new" because this restaurant used to be Tanjore, which we had visited in person and ordered takeout from before, and the food was always delicious. As local residents of Boca Raton who have tried every Indian restaurant in the city, we were shocked by the poor quality of the $140 worth of food we received. The Baingan Bharta was particularly disappointing, with a watery consistency, incorrect spices, odd texture, and poorly prepared eggplant. It seemed as though the eggplant had been cut up and boiled in the sauce, which is not the traditional way of preparing this dish. The Biryani rice was undercooked and the accompanying rice was also not properly cooked. Overall, most of the dishes we ordered were unappetizing, with only a few exceptions.
We eat Indian food all the time throughout the country. that was probably one of the best spots. the manager (owner) pointed out detail, made sure everything was perfect. our server has done the same and eating was excellent. I'll be back again and again.
This place never disappointed. delicious food, drinks and excellent service.
Great food, friendly service. was simply in the mood for Indian and we were pleasantly surprised! would go again!
As regulars we are very satisfied with saphir and will continue to enjoy their offers, wonderful Indian cuisine. we were there on Sunday to celebrate the Father's Day. the only complaining, minor, is that they should take into account, offer free pappadomes, as this at their competitive, especially as most restaurants, every ethnia, offer free brotkörbe for their customers. it would be a great, welcoming gesture!
