Profigrill - Bochum

I come here pretty often each time I am here for business. I try to stop here, usually for lunch. The owner is a former Restaurant chef and he brings his passion for food in, whilst remaining true to the german cuisine. I defenitely recommend this place. Good quality, low prices.

I have been here a number of times for a quick meal. The food is great, the sauces are self-made so might not be to the taste of those used to the cheap pre-made stuff you get elsewhere. My favourite is the "Pommes Spezial", not only are the french fries good, the use of homemade sauces and red onions makes this typical "Imbiss" dish something really special. The Currywurst is really good too and I get that from time to time too. It doesn't matter when you go there, it is always busy, but with the good food and prices and the friendly owner it is easy to see why people flock there.

The Profigrill is an old fashioned German fastfood restaurant in Wattenscheid – the owner, who is a former sous chef in a Michelin-star-restaurant in Düsseldorf, just got sick of all the Haute Cusine stuff and opened this venue, an classic “Pommesbude”. Results are: sauces and the slaw are made fresh (daily?) with real spices – that pays!For the Profigrill having been more than once on TV shows, you really need to know when to go there – around lunchtime and dinnertime it's always pretty crowded.But once having a table, it's really cozy for a fastfood grill. Try the “Currywurst”, the great Schnitzel Holstein with an egg sunny side up (no Schnitzel is deep fried, all have seen a real frying pan!) or (and?) the “Pommes Spezial“ (french fries with a special, real sauce and fresh cut red onions – not just ketchup, mayonnaise and all-day-resting onions).Staff really is friendly, most times we visited, the owner came to all customers’ tables.And prices are just average. Like it a lot!

I think the Profigrill is really great. Schnitzel in various variations, Currywurst, Pommes etc. The ambience is typical snacks, but suitable. I always go when I'm here. All I've eaten was so delicious. Prices are very cheap for what is served. Top!
