Alice in Gaya Cafe & Bistro - Bodh Gaja

I made a reservation at the restaurant for my team from CRPF, and I am very pleased with the service and atmosphere. The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent.

Tucked away from the main road among a row of shops, this cozy restaurant has a Thai-inspired ambiance. I enjoyed a cup of coffee and a delicious slice of chocolate cake. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet.

We came to this restaurant specifically for the pad Thai, but unfortunately we were served one of the worst pad Thai dishes we have ever had. It was spoiled and lacked fish sauce and peanuts. The pork dish with holy basil was also bland and did not have the promised minced meat. The curry we ordered was lacking holy basil and came with beans and capsicum instead. We had to ask for extra fish sauce and holy basil from our server. Overall, the food did not taste authentic Thai and we wish the owner would oversee the kitchen staff more closely.

Very disappointed! Cafe looks lovely but the crab fried rice didn't contain any crab and the spaghetti dish was actually stir fried noodles - do they think we were all born yesterday?The portions were the size of starters and the price was twice that of anywhere else.My advice is don't go, they shouldn't be running a cafe!

Alice in Gaya in located in the Arya Complex near the Thai Temple. It's a quiet location, away from the busy main road. The restaurant is clean and plays relaxing music. My partner and I ate here several times, we especially like the White Rabbit Set breakfast which includes eggs, toast, salad, fries and a coffee drink. The cappuccino and lattes are delicious. Compared to Western standards (we are from the U.S,) it feels similar. I feel good after eating, which can be a challenge at other restaurants in Bodh Gaya. Grateful for this gem.
