Mi Cocina Restaurante - Bogotá

I went back to my hotel at night (maybe not the smartest thing in Bogota) and saw a few cooks before a cooking school hanging the ESCUELA DE GASTRONOMÍA VERDE OLIVA. In my broken Spanish I asked if they cooked for the public, and in fact they do! Directly opposite the school is its restaurant Mi Cocina Gastronomia Colombiana, which is open for lunch. The next day I returned with my wife and some friends. The atmosphere was warm, lively, colorful, airy and comfortable in a modern Colombian style. The waiting staff was very professional and efficient. The menu was complete and inspiring. But the food... oh my... the food was amazing. I had the roasted chicken, my Colombian friends had traditional dishes and they were better than my mother did. My chicken was absolutely delicious. The next day I went back to the same restaurant and brought more friends. They shaved too. I just wish I was still in Bogota to try everything on the menu. I bet everything's great.

Buen restaurante, menú variado y muy bueno, aunque pida que le den la carne bien cocinada. Buena ubicación con ambiente tranquilo al igual que una hermosa decoración. Sin embargo le recomiendo que no vaya a horas pico de almuerzo porque la atención de los meseros decae notablemente, muchas mesas para sólo 3 meseros y le tocará esperar porque ellos se concentran en atender bien a los grupos y se les olvida sus pedidos si va solo.

I was walking back to my hotel at night (perhaps not the very smartest thing to do in Bogota) and saw a bunch of chefs hanging out in front of a cooking school -- the "ESCUELA DE GASTRONOMÍA VERDE OLIVA". In my broken Spanish I asked if they cooked for the public, and indeed they do! Right across the street from the school is their restaurant "Mi Cocina Gastronomia Colombiana" which is open for lunch.The next day I returned with my wife and a couple of friends. The atmosphere was warm, lively, colorful, airy and comfortable in a modern Colombian style. The wait staff were very professional and efficient. The menu was complete and inspiring. But the food... oh my... the food was amazing.I had the roasted chicken, my Colombian friends had traditional dishes and they raved "better than my mother makes it". My chicken was absolutely delicious. The next day, I went back to the same restaurant and brought more friends. They also raved. I only wish I were still in Bogota to try everything on the menu. I'll bet its all great.
