My friend Tanya and I stopped the car on a dime and swung back to the Tipsy Canoe when we read a sign that said breakfast for $2.49. The restaurant is very rustic with very nice wooden tables and comfy chairs. There are a few booths along the left side. Our waitress was Rebecca. Very friendly and helpful. We ordered the cheap breakfast, which was one egg to your liking, along with your choice of bacon, ham or sausage and toast. We ordered the homemade white bread. This breakfast was lovely! Very filling and so cheap. You can also purchase baked goods at the back of the restaurant. We will definitely be back. Our only complaint was the temperature. It was freezing! We ate fast so we could get back outside to warm up.
The fish and chips were great! And the service as usual, was exceptional. Keep up the great work! We'll be back!
Stopped here for lunch on the way home from a road trip with the wife and kids. Big mistake. The place looks like an industrial warehouse from the outside and the inside has a decor I can best describe as hunting lodge. The waitress who took our order wasn't exactly friendly. She wasn't rude but had an attitude like she didn't care and didn't want to be there. Despite there only being about six or eight other diners there, it was almost an hour before the food arrived. They serve pub style food , so it isn't like anything is complicated or takes long to cook and it wasn't busy. In that time, our waitress never stopped over once to check on us. When the food eventually arrived, she dropped of the kids' meals and left. Five minutes passes and my wife and I are wondering where our food is. We try some of the fries our kids have and they taste like cardboard. We flagged down the waitress and her response is that "the kitchen is all messed up". No apology and no assurances our food will be up soon. Fifteen minutes later, the kids have finished eating and still no food. My wife goes up to older woman who seems to be the manager or owner and says we want to pay for the kids meals and leave. That woman apologizes and tells us we don't have to pay.I would avoid this place at all costs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Tipsy Canoe. The service was fast and friendly, the meal was great and the price reasonable. I'll definitely be stopping in again!
