Ortensia Ristobar - BOLSENA

We were travelling in Bolsena, when we found this small restaurant (they call it a ristobar . The place: They have some coffee table on the lakefront, and I mean that the lake is almost under your feet. The ducks with their ducklings swim a few meters from you. There is always a light lake breeze that refreshes, even during these hot days; and you eat in the shade of centenary trees. The food: very good. You don 't have many choises, but the cook proposes some plates from appetizers to dessert, and you really choose a tasteful italian food. They are all tasty dishes. The waiters: always ready, they explain each course carefully, they are convincing. Above all, they are friendly, so you can appreciate the place with great serenity. You feel really relaxed.

We visited Francesco, Allesandro and their staff after a 4 year absence. The menu for a small ristobar is good and full of influences from the lake and Terne where they come from for the summer. I ate a superb circle cinghali at least twice and a homemade hamburger the same.As a group we tried the Pizza,and for us English they even made Spaghetti Pomadoro even if it wasn't on the menu.It's a great place for lunch ,superb atmosphere and views.It's not a 5 star restaurant but they do some delicious simple dishes very well.

What a wonderful place to have some drinks or to eat something. Very cosy environment and the service is just wonderful, very friendly! The food is extremely good! Tip; Tiramisu

A wonderful place for an aperitivo, lunch or a moonlit supper. Under the shade of lovely trees dipping into the lake we have eaten many delicious meals. The staff are delightful, warm and friendly..nothing is too much trouble. The head cook is a wonder. She adapts her menu for us and the food is wonderful..pasta with different home made pesto, focaccia stuffed full of freshly prepared vegetables, all bread is made by her with long fermentation sonsuper digestible. The wine is also very good. We cannot recommend the food,the staff and the location highly enough.

Ristorante semplice ma molto bello praticamente sulla riva del lago. proprietario cordiale ed estremamente disponibile, ha spiegato tutti i piatti del menu in dettaglio e tutti sembravano davvero buono. per provare il pesce locale abbiamo preso la coregone in crosta di patate, molto consigliato!
