Whiteside's - Bolton

The staff at this restaurant is very nice and the curry is delicious. The chips and other items on the menu are also really good. I hope you enjoy your meal and have a great day.

The fish and chips at this restaurant were quite disappointing. Our order also included pudding, chips, and gravy. The pudding was enjoyable, but all of us found the chips to be undercooked and not resembling proper chips. Considering the relatively high price, we had expected better quality. The restaurant used to be better a few years ago, but we won't be returning anytime soon.

We all love fish and chips from Whitesides lovely staff as well. Have been coming to Whitesides for years and will continue.

Seen the advert outside this clean looking takeaway and just wanted to check it out. It is Friday night at 6PM and I have been hard at it all week and didn’t fancy cooking and this place was calling to be tried. People were queuing outside so I was expecting a long wait but thought it must be worth trying. Upon entering I was asked if I would like some fish. Which shows the fish is freshly cooked to order. I prefer haddock to cod but they had sold out of haddock so I had a cod instead. While the staff served the customers in front of me, my fish was cooking and when I reached the counter, my fish was just ready which means i didn’t have to wait for long either. It was a delicious looking golden brown colour and looked really appetising. The chips looked perfectly cooked, not anemic and not over cooked. We ordered a large fish, a large chips with a carton of curry sauce and a chip sandwich. The cost was a touch over £8 which I feel was reasonably priced. When we got home, everything was still piping hot and the chips were crispy on the outside with a mash potato consistency on the inside. The taste took me back to what a real chip should taste like. The potions are generous and we couldn’t finish them all but they were that delicious we really did our best to finish them. The fish was cooked to perfection, it broke very easily with the back of a fork and tasted fresh and delicious. Although I am not a fan of batter, this fish was crunchy and very tasty. Although you could find cheaper, you would be very hard pushed to find better tasting. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a quick and easy meal which is reasonably priced that actually tastes decent as well.
