As someone originally from Dubai, eating at Sabbaba reminded me of the flavors of the Middle East, it was extremely authentic. The portions are generous, and I had to take a break because I was so full. My friend ordered the falafel bowl and I got the chicken shawarma bowl with a side of falafels and halloumi chips. The halloumi chips were good but nothing special. The service was a bit slow, probably because it was a Saturday night, but it was worth it for the delicious falafels.
I used to love dining at this venue for its delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, and scenic location. The service was always impeccable and the food was consistently good. However, after visiting their new website on Campbell Parade, I was extremely disappointed. It seems like they have prioritized seating as many people as possible, resulting in small portions of not-so-hot food. The seating arrangement was cramped, with poor service and cleanliness standards. Unfortunately, I will not be returning and will instead be dining at Jump Street in Bondi Junction. It's a shame to see Sabaaba Bondi lose sight of their regular customers in pursuit of increased profits. Best of luck to them, but they have lost my patronage after many years of loyalty.
Excellent option for a healthy lunch. Falafel and salad had danced my flavor buds and wanted more. Will return back to this little provider.
Pro's - fresh Israeli food - plenty of options - decent priced - Delicious desserts Con's - no table service - self serve water - had better Israeli food --> Savion at North Bondi is delicious!!
You can not go wrong with big warm portions. Solid, good tasting bowls. You have to choose the Falafel, is that what these guys are famous for? Coz, they were delicious. I'm not big for Falafels, but these were memorable and definitely delicious. Slightly crispy on the outside. The bowl came with a variety of salads and they will be more than satisfied. Also great were the desserts in their display, many baklava varieties, and they were all vegan, I'm pretty sure.
