It is very sad that this is happening in this century...
Went there for an evening in winter (you have to reserve a table as it's normally all booked). It's the right place if you are looking for traditional German/Austrian food served in a tradional atmosphere with attentive and very friendly staff. They have the somewhat posher dining area where you can meet with family. Although there had been quite a few guests we were served at once and received our meal steak fish resp. in a very short time. In summer this is a beautiful meeting place, out on the terrace, overlooking the Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains), Königswinter and the Rhine.
We met Doris and Alex here for lunch before setting out for Konigswinter. The dining room was cozy and very old German. Our lunches were very good, I had salmon, sliced thinly and uncooked. It was accompanied by roasted potatoes and dill spinach. Even for someone who is not a salmon fan, I enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the view of the Rhein River and the grounds added to the experience.
No matter what season it is always nice to return in the lovingly family-run winehouse! In the summer you can spend wonderful afternoons and lousy summer evenings on the great terrace. In winter, the cosy guest room invites you to social evenings. Traditionally Austrian, seasonal dishes are available. The classic Wiener Schnitzel or the specially prepared cakes are certainly particularly recommended. I have always experienced the service warm and accommodating.
We were here for the first time with friends. Super nicely located, great terrace, practical parking. The interior was also cozy and clean. The service, surprisingly Austrian, friendly and accommodating. The juice goulash was amazing. Price/performance ratio top. We felt comfortable. Also highly recommended for guests with disabilities. Tip: Book before visit and bring time for a walk on the Rhine We were certainly not the last time here Thank you for the great hospitality
