They are only 3 hours from 11-2 and often closed earlier because they run out of fish. We were lucky today because they had extra fish. It costs a fortune for only fried Haddock and Pommes, but it is good for a one-time ride (from Ohio) lunch. If you like everything, you can eat fried fish at home and always ask for more, then the big fish is for one. Friends are a HUGE order. Get a small one or share a large one with at least 3 people. Only cash and if you want soda, you need to buy from a machine behind the place. Photos are of big fish and big fries.
Place is open for the season, despite a false listing it is temporarily closed. The closed list is wrong. Valuable destination of a long trip for a very large and extremely tasty fish sandwich. The fries are also delicious. One of the nice places and experiences, not to miss, and she is a great host, friendly and charismatic. One of the best offers around Boothbay and in Maine!
The large plate and chips meal feeds an adult and two children with remains. We love this place and make a point to stop when we are in the area.
General portions of delicious fish and frits. Big basket and small pommes eat for two under $20. Park next door offers a great setting and picnic table.
We live in Boothbay Harbor and have had the Haddock served in most of the restaurants in the area. Bets is the best tasting, largest portions, and lowest price. My wife and I get a small fish, or small fish fries and it is enough to feed both of us. Whenever we eat fish somewhere else (in the winter when Bets is closed) we ask ourselves “is it as good as Bets?” And the answer is always “no”. We fear the day when Bet retires.
