I was surprised to not see Onion soup on many menu's in...Bordeaux so when I saw it on this menu I had to order it. I really wish I hadn't. It was luke warm, watered down and salty, which was surprising considering it was $8.50 euro per bowl. My main meal, an entree salad was just okay and my creme brulee dessert was again just okay. They did have a nice wine selection and the waiter was nice, but took a very long time. No one from our group liked it, in fact during the week when the question of where to eat came up people would say, anywhere but this place.
Asked for spaghetti with truffle oil and mushrooms, what came out was like a carbonara sauce and was not good at all. There was not enough salt and pepper there to give it any flavour. Husband spaghetti bologese was equally poor. Save your wallet and...taste buds and go to McDonald's across the road. Trust me , it couldn't be any worse
Admittedly we only had entrecôte which shouldn’t be difficult to mess up but both were cooked exactly as we specified but what really impressed us was how lovely the staff were even though getting the attention of the only person taking orders was quite...trying and she too seemed to be the only one authorised to take payments! But hey, this is France just sit back and enjoy the leisurely pace.
Eaten here twice over the last few weeks because it is very convenient for the railway station whilst waiting for the TGV. The service is fast, efficient and friendly which is perfect when you only have a short time before the train. Sadly the food...is really poor. First time I had moules marinières which was very bland and I had to discard around 20% of the mussels because they had not opened. Second time I decided to try the plat du jour which was billed as roast pork with sauté potatoes. The pork had been fried and was under seasoned whilst the sautée potatoes consisted of six thick chips' which were undercooked, grey in colour and swimming in grease. Yuk!
