We had been to this bar before for a drink, but hadn’t realised it was a restaurant as well, but on a May evening it was just what we were looking for. There were plenty of locals in the place and as there is no menu what you eat is a matter for discussion with the waiter. Our starter of prosciutto and cheese was excellent with very rustic ham and a nice choice of cheeses. My tagliatelle with wild mushroom and sausage sauce was as good a plate of pasta as I have had anywhere and my wife also very much enjoyed her tagliatelle al ragu. House wine was of a very good standard.
At the eastern base of the Apennines a few metres off Italian State Road 73 (European route E78) in the small village of Lamoli we found this delightful Osteria. The simple unassuming facade of the building belied an establishment that served up some of the freshest tastiest pasta we have sampled in Italy. Simple regional food typical of Marche the wild boar ragu tagliatelle was a hit as was the tortellini funghi. Salad was generous and fresh with the olive oil and vinegar dressing a matter for each diner's discretion. Service was polite, helpful and on time. At 30 euros the lunch for three was great value and included a half litre of decent house red wine.
