This is a fantastic café in Balwyn, conveniently situated for a quick coffee, breakfast, or a tasty soup. The service is consistently excellent, and the barista is extremely friendly. The food is both pricey and fresh, a major advantage over other establishments in the area. Don't miss the avocado toast and be sure to snag a spot by the window!
My partner and I returned to Balwyn for Saturday brunch and decided to try a new restaurant, Rhiminis. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful, with a small front room seating about a dozen people, and a few more tables in a cozy back room with a gas log fireplace. The decor was simple, with small red metal chairs and black laminex tables. We sat next to the fireplace during our late morning visit, although unfortunately, it was also next to the kitchen door which was left open by staff coming in and out, giving us a less than pleasant view of the kitchen sink. The service was very good, with friendly and efficient young staff. Our drinks, a pot of English breakfast tea and a cup of Italian style hot chocolate, arrived promptly. We finished our drinks before our food, which included eggs with sourdough toast and a pulled pork roll with apfelslawe, aioli, rocket, and Swiss cheese. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the pulled pork roll was delicious with plenty of tender pork on a large panini roll. We also purchased a mini brownie on our way out to try later, which was fudgy, filled with walnuts, and not too sweet. The total cost for two meals, two drinks, and the brownie was $39. I would definitely return for lunch, as they also offer a variety of desserts and gourmet rolls in addition to their standard breakfast menu.
I find it easy to enter a caffe and order my coffee with the first server I see at the theke, just to be ignored or to be handed over to someone else because the barrista does not take the command. if this is the case why. put them in the first spot customers will go for the service? that's what happened to me at rhimini and it immediately dropped me off. when it came, my coffee was actually quite good and the rest of the service was nice, but to fix this first step, please.
A great little cafe in Balwyn that is well located to grab a quick coffee, breakfast or some delicious soup. Service is generally very good and the barista is super nice. Food is well priced and fresh which is a big plus over some of the others on the strip. Try the Avocado breaky and grab a seat in the window!
