Met friends yesterday for dinner. If you have never tried the Copper River Salmon(limited time) it's worth the drive. I live in Monroe and drove to Bossier. They have this on the menu likely thru July so don't miss it. The chefs prepare the Salmon to perfection!
2 John's is one the finest restaurants in the area. The food was fantastic. Gregory the server did a fine job of keeping up with our table. He explained the special off menu items and was very informative. During the dinner the owner, John, came by the table to make sure everything was satisfactory. I have been here several times in the past and will continue to support this local establishment.
The food and service was excellent. I noted when making the reservation that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, and I had hoped for a little more intimate table. Our table was right in the restaurant entrance, right adjacent to the noisy bar, and right by the kitchen. We were in the midst of all sorts of traffic, and that was somewhat distracting. Having said that, we will certainly come back again.
The food was fantastic. The bread was perfection. The cocktails were well crafted, and iced beautifully. The staff were great, from start to finish, with just the right amount of presence. The grouper and trout were the best I've ever had. The patrons were having fun, but there was a lack of the excessive drunken nonsense that prevails in many places. If I had to find a complaint, I'd say the crab au gratin was heavy on the bell pepper, but that's nit picking. The prices were also more than fair. It was overall an experience to remember, and we will definitely be back.
