But left here hungry and unsatisfied with the food we ate. Food was all presentation and no substance or flavour. Went to a grocery store after leaving to get snacks. Shamefully overpriced for what you get.
We have done many tasting menus and even Michelin restaurants so we know high end dining. This was a disappointment. Staff was nice and food was flavorful, however, portions and substance of the food was extremely lacking. We left hungry. It was as if this was a tasting menu on a diet. Put it this way, the dessert was a few pieces of honey dew melon with sauce drizzled on top. The best they did was put down a few pieces of bread in the middle of the courses which practically saved us. Pathetic. Spent $300 (two tastings with the tip no added extra drinks) and feel completely robbed.
We had a nice dinner here. If you let them know ahead of time, they will prepare a gluten-free tasting menu for you. The only course they skipped was the bread course. It would have been nice to have a gluten-free option for that as well.Food: 4/5
Beautiful and thoughtfully prepared tasting menu. We were surprised and excited by each dish and were very impressed by the extent to which the staff were willing to discuss what they were serving. Not to mention, I'm forever grateful that they accommodated my proposal! Please pay them a visit!Food: 5/5
Excellent tasting menu with creative vegetable dishes.Recently took a visit to try their vegetable-forward tasting menu. Without a written description of the menu, we didn’t know what to expect, but the tasting menu was a good mix of vegetarian and omnivore dishes. Our meal started with a radish soup which was a bit acidic, but the subtle aroma of the black garlic gougère gave it a strong yet pleasant finish. The subsequent dish was a mèlange of diced mango, salmon roe, seasame sauce, and crunchy asparagus, and it was one of the most interesting twists on salad I’ve had in a while. Salmon roe added just the right amount of saltiness and umami that really enhanced its flavors. Sprinkled with a pinch of salt, the Japanese sprout tempura was undoubtedly my favorite. Although simple, the combination of daikon purée, shiitake mushrooms, and the tempura was an epitome of Japanese style of cooking. On the other hand, the omnivore dishes including the hanger steak and the grilled mackerel were good but plain. We added the seared foie gras to complete the meal, and the torched sweet potatoes were good pairings with the fatty foie gras. Finale of the meal was a custard cake with rosé vinaigrette and pea greens. While I wasn’t a huge fan of the idea of putting greens on a dessert, it wasn’t as bad as I initially thought.Overall, it was a satisfying experience, and I would definitely come back to try their other seasonal tasting menus.
