Mcmenamins North Shore Lagoon At Anderson School

They should call this McMidamins. It was average in almost every way. You don't actually need a reservation (nor would it matter since there is no host . You just walk in and seat yourself. Eventually the bartender comes around to take a food order. The food was OK, the drinks were fairly terrible by most tiki standards. This would have been a two star review but I bumped it one star because they did a great job with the ambiance and decor. It's a little weird overlooking a public pool and also a bit weird that the place is inside of a historic school(??? It's like this place doesn't know what it wants to be.

Food was great, service and ambiance was nice but for some reason our food (kids meals and appetizers only) took over 45 minutes.

Disappointed could not use gift card. Service was grate. Food was good. Overall cool place.

Not sure why we needed a reservation. Place was pretty empty. Waited over 30 minutes and no hostess showed. Finally an employee from the restaurant said we could just seat ourselves. Food was a little burnt around the edges. And my reservation said this was a birthday. They were clueless and it spoiled the surprise.

90 minutes from order to food on table. Clearly understaffed in front and back and some popular basics on the menu were out of stock . Given McMenamin 's reputation and experience with restaurants, there 's really no reason. Staff clearly were aware of problems and apologetic afterwards, but warning up front would have been nice so we could decide if we wanted to stick it out.
