Because of the roadwork on the midlands highway and as a former coach driver we decided to take the somewhat longer but more scenic alternative route back from our week d to the tulips with my visit sister in law. we went around 16:30 16:45 to from a 'so, what do they want?' "there was a couple young biker, walker naturally enjoy the bar and seems that we were an interruption. in the grunde, kitchen is closed, it is a Sunday of the holidays and indicates to use and go the loo. was very embarrassing and fortunately no group of people. sign outside said open, but didn't want the point as people like so. good. castle, hmm seems the train bridge was up. go in the future to the derwent bridge or miena.
The entire family enjoyed a pub lunch here. The meals were delicious, generous in portion, and reasonably priced. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly! The fire was crackling, adding to the character of the place and creating a wonderful atmosphere overall. We will definitely stop by again next time we're passing through. Rating: 5/5.
Our room felt reminiscent of Fawlty Towers. The ensuite bathroom had a pocket door that wouldn’t open once closed. The complimentary toiletries were expired as well. We were also told we would receive two slices of each type of bread that arrived, but instead, we got only two slices wrapped in plastic. The television was outdated, resembling something from the 70s, and we had to deal with an old set-top box. The mattress, however, was comfortable and provided good support without much movement. It goes without saying that we only stayed one night. Since it was just an hour’s drive from Hobart, we opted to book a five-star hotel for only $35 more per night. My honest advice: perhaps the food here is enjoyable (though we can't recommend it since we didn’t try it), but I would suggest staying somewhere else unless significant improvements are made, as their Facebook page suggests.
We stopped by this hotel for lunch while traveling from Hobart to Davenport. We enjoyed the bar food, ordering fish and chips, a burger, and pizza, all of which were delicious. Bothwell is a historic town located in the heart of Tasmania, and this restaurant is situated there. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even though we arrived late for lunch. There is parking available, and both dine-in and take-out options are offered.
