There were some positive aspects, such as the delicious Caesar Salad, fresh rolls, the cod specialty, a beautifully presented vegetable medley, similar to Ratatouille, and the attentive server. However, there were also some negative points to consider. My husband's martini was mostly ice water with a splash of alcohol, my negroni was weak, and my ribeye steak, which was a special that day, was not cooked to my liking. It was medium on the inside and charred on the outside. The side of potatoes was disappointingly small. Despite having a reservation, we were seated at a cramped table near the entrance, making it difficult to enjoy our meal comfortably. The total bill came to $140 before tip, without including dessert or the Caesar Salad appetizer. Considering the high prices, we were not satisfied with our experience and will not be returning.
I normally don't dine at hotel restaurants unless I am traveling, but this was a pleasant surprise. I was in search of a late breakfast/brunch spot that was open all day, and this place fit the bill perfectly. Despite there being a convention happening, we were able to snag a great table near the cozy gas fireplace in a stunning setting with plenty of natural light and comfortable seating. The breakfast menu had numerous options to choose from, as well as three brunch options that even included a vegan dish for my friend. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. Our server, who was bilingual, was efficient, professional, and charming. I would definitely come back here again.
We enjoyed breakfast at this restaurant both mornings during our weekend stay at Hotel Mortagne. My wife ordered the omelette both days, while I had eggs one morning and a ham and cheese croissant the next. Both egg dishes were cooked perfectly. The bottomless coffee was a nice touch. Based on how busy the restaurant was on Saturday night, when we stopped in after a family gathering, they must also do a good job with other meals.
During my 2nd 4-day stay in the hotel I lied every night on room service. the delivery was efficient, with professional personable persons who supply my food to room per night. I was overly impressed by the gm, I had missed keeping my zigzag for 2 nights and he gave without problems. I enjoyed each of my meals.
Since i stayed with my bf in the hotel in which the restaurant is, we had the occasion to eat there twice. The food was well prepared, nice combination of flavours and nice presentation, the chefs and cooks know what they 're doing. The service was...perfect the first time; the second time it would have been perfect if the waitress had known where the meat came from (not just the country or region I mean how the animal was raised, if it was well-treated, and if it died painlessly) as i pay attention to these kind of details ; and there are not many vegeterian choices. But thats the only downside.
