L'Escale - Boulogne-sur-Mer

Came upon this place after walking the promenade. The waiter made us feel at ease immediately and explained the specials board. We were not disappointed with our choices. The fish was excellent. We hope the waiter will one day find his way to Scarborough on his bike.

Rubbish service, waited well over an hour for food and when it came their Welsh speciality was disgusting, basically a bowl of melted cheap cheese with bits in, no idea where the Welsh bit came from as we are Welsh and certainly don’t have anything like this at home. Charged for bottle of water that pretty sure was tap water. All we were offered was free coffee for the terrible service and food. They clearly pray on tourists and seem to think we want rubbish food and service.

Nice bar with pastis sauce, I even asked for more… Friendly staff, efficient service! I enjoyed it solo, no problem. Nice location just opposite Nausicaa.

My family and I stopped in Boulogne-sur-Mer on the way back from Paris, for dinner. We made an email reservation which was confirmed promptly. Food was very tasty, service was friendly and we would definitely recommend this place.

We've been with the family, we've been very well received. They made us a special table for the children. We ate very well. I recommend.
