Douglas - Bound Brook

My experience at Douglas Diner was extremely disappointing and concerning. While dining there, I discovered a cockroach in my Agua de Horchata. When I discreetly informed the server, she insinuated that the cockroach may have been there before she served the drink or that I had put it there myself, which was both unprofessional and offensive. The waitstaff was also overly intrusive, questioning if a regular-sized drink I ordered for my daughter was all for her, which felt invasive and unnecessary. This experience has left me with no desire to return to the restaurant, as cleanliness and respectful customer service are essential and were lacking during my visit.

I ordered 3 pupusas and 2 soups for takeout, but when I picked them up, they only gave me one bag of cabbage. I explained that the pupusas were meant to be distributed individually, even though they were ordered together for convenience. Despite this, they charged me $2 for just one small bag of cabbage. They also did not include hot sauce in the order and charged an extra $0.50 for a small portion of hot sauce. I suggest ordering items separately for takeout to ensure you receive enough condiments. The restaurant did not provide enough cabbage and charged extra for hot sauce, so be cautious when ordering in a group.

This is one of my top Hispanic restaurants, and their food, especially the pupusas, are my favorite.
