La Boite Chaude - Bourg-Saint-Maurice

We visit Bourg a few times a year to see our family and always have at least one meal in La Boite Chaude. You have an extensive menu with a variety of choices. At the beginning of the month we had the pier, it was one of the best we ever had! Three meats, four sauces (a reasonable amount of each in contrast to other places), salad, a huge bowl of chips and vegetables for the pier wheel as well. We went back to the day before our departure and had the faux-fillet that I squealed a few times as delicious! The owner is very pleasant and friendly as the other waitress. La Boite Chaude is also a great place to sit outside in a better weather.

A perfect place to get warm and taste an authentic raclette or tartiflette after a day of walking or skiing. The place is illuminated by small lamps that give the restaurant a beautiful view in the evening.

Group of 4 visited a thunder evening in July 2018, we sat outside and were under deck what was nice. The servers seemed a little distant, although only 2x pizzas, a salad and some lasagna all as main courses we had a few... Issues: one of the pizzas was wrong, then they brought an additional third pizza we did not order. the pasta should come with a side salad that did not come, so we had to order a separate one after that didn't come. All that said the food was all quickly enough torn off, which must be a good sign, it was washed with a bottle perfectly acceptable red and some local beers. I didn't want to be too negative, we weren't in the rush and were happy, just sitting for a few hours, the place wasn't busy, but so it could be a bit annoying if they were on a hurry....

We waited for 1 hour 20 minutes for our food. When it eventually arrived it was under cooked and we had to send it back. There was no apology from the staff or owner. Avoid for the terrible service.

Great value for money we spent €20 on a lunch for 2. Really nice food. Polite staff. The food arrived quickly, was fresh and tasty.
