Dane Port - Bournemouth

This restaurant offers a unique dining experience with no menu, so be prepared to be surprised by your meal choices. You won't know the cost of each course until the end. The food was delicious and the restaurant had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, resembling a homecooked meal at a friend's house. The chef explained each dish as it was served, enhancing the dining experience. The cocktails were also well-made and enjoyable. If this restaurant was closer, I would be a regular customer. Additionally, there was a fantastic live band called the European String Choir performing during my visit.

My husband and I recently dined at this distinct and inviting restaurant. There is no menu to choose from; instead, the owners lead you through a set menu starting with a starter followed by (in our case) five bowls of comforting and wholesome vegetables, beans, and pulses. The dishes were all expertly seasoned and surprisingly filling. We were so full by the end that we didn't have room for dessert. We paired our meal with a house white wine, and although we didn't inquire about the specific type, it was quite delicious.

This restaurant is very inviting and welcoming. The owners helped us navigate a fantastic sharing menu (which includes a starter followed by 5 main dishes to share). The flavors were amazing. Every dish was well-seasoned and tasted very healthy. It was a pleasant surprise to see what was coming next. We enjoyed everything we were served and would definitely return. The wine selection was also excellent!

If you like to mentally pre-order your meal before you even set foot through the door, or you like the same thing everywhere you go, then go elsewhere. Dane Port is not for you. Had a date night with Wifey and went to Bournemouth, after being recommended Dane Port. Had three courses, each of which was explained in exquisite detail by Isobel. Her passion for food and it’s preparation is clear and obvious. The results were delicious. Robin stands front of house and operates a superb venue and you feel welcomed and wanted from the minute you walk through the door. It’s plant based food, but even if you’ve never tried it, don’t let this put you off. It is worth the visit and the gastronomic journey through their food. Each course was superb, washed down with some excellent organic wine and then the best coffee I’ve ever had. Have to say; the orange syrup sponge was pretty amazing. A definite addition to our Return To list. Well done you guys and thanks for looking after us.

Lovely food and drink. Nicely presented too. We asked for bill and instead were presented with card machine only. Would like to know how much I was paying and itemised, as in any other place before tapping my card. No receipt offered.
