First time at the restaurant. I ordered the 300g ribeye steak . It certainly wasn 't a ribeye steak and if it was, either it 's a very poor quality ribeye or their meat supplier is robbing them. To be fair it was cooked medium as I asked for, and the whole meal was cooked right. But when I pay £36 for a rib eye steak I expect a rib eye steak of a very good qaulity. Also the peppercorn sauce tasted of just cream and green peppercorns, I could not taste jus in it, and the colour was very pale. When the waiter came to clear my table he asked me if everything was ok and he saw the plates where clean, (as I was hungry I did not bother to send it back) so he laughed and said oh the plates look clean so it must have been good so I could not help it, but to tell him about the steak and I even showed him the picture I took before I started to eat it. The steak was more of a rump steak than a ribeye but either way it was a poor quality steak even for weatherspoon 's standards. In other posts on here I read quite a bit about their steak quality and the fact they 're always out of something, in my case, as I don 't like tap water I asked for a bottle of still water but they did not have any. Picture is attached so you can see for yourselves. For the whole meal I paid £65, 12.5% sc included just for myself. I did not ask for a refund nor for sc to be removed so I am being more than fair in my feedback.
Had a really nice meal with great service , friendly staff , food was well presented and very tasty , left feeling very satisfied
Disappointing at best, although the waiter was very charming. We chose our preferred bottle of wine, which they didn’t have, nor did they have our second choice and was uncertain about our third option so went for a more expensive bottle that he knew was available. Also ordered two dark rums, and cokes, were presented with one glass of white rum and two cokes. Apparently they had also run out of dark rum, which for a Hilton hotel with a large cocktail bar is astonishing. My mushroom and Parmesan gnocchi consisted of heavy claggy gnocchi with two or three thin slices of mushroom, and served in a bland but incredibly salty sauce, no sign or taste of Parmesan, perhaps they’d run out, it was so salty infact that I couldn’t eat it. To be fair they did not charge for the item. I opted for hake which was to be served with sweet potatoes, and as I don’t like them I asked for alternatives, offer of chips or mash which I chose. Meal came with mash and a two inch size piece of the fish plonked on top, that was it! No sauce as per menu or vegetables other than tiny piece of crispy kale garnish which was actually delicious, more than can be said for the fish. The other concerning issues was that following departure of a very large group the “unused” cutlery was left on the table, and later picked up and put in tray ready to be placed on fresh tables. Hygienic, I think not, who’s to say the previous customer has not previously licked the spoons or forks, what has happened to sanitising that was so evident during covid. There’s no point antibacterial spraying tables then placing previously served and pre handled cutlery. All in all not an experience I care to repeat or could recommend! Relying on the Hilton branding I feel. For the venue and price I expected better.
I brought a voucher for my Mum for her birthday. I wish I hadn’t bothered. From not being able to get through to book the reservation due the phone lines being down to being booked in the wrong day. When we finally arrived we were barked at for our pin for our voucher. As it was raining outside we were not raining. We were shown to our table and suspected that we would have to pay extra for items but never told so we had to ask. We had steak the “Ribeye Steak” it was not ribeye that I have ever eaten. We asked for it too be cooked medium rare but as the steak is cooked in a tandoori oven this would never be possible. Our steak was medium to well done. Complain you say enough people around us were already doing that with there steaks being “undercooked” The cheeseboard was very nice The serve was ok as only four tables but if you went any later I think it would have become a problem Watch the bill when it comes and service charge is added to the bill
