I had the fried chicken wings with Mac cheese and Hoppin' John (I love black-eyed peas) with cast iron Cornbread and it was not disappointed. They offer the opportunity to have fried chicken hard, which I rejected and rightly as they were perfectly fried. My wife had fried catfish (she wanted fried pork chops, but they were sold out) with Mac cheese and cabbage and cast iron grain and they enjoyed it. Trash was okay, but not spectacular. I also prefer my Mac baked with a little brown that wasn't. Cornbread was the consistency of pound cake that is good. We tried the sweet potato cake, peach and bread pudding. Sweet potato cake tasted like homemade just cooked a tad to dark for me, but it had good taste. The bread pudding was good, but has nuts inside that we do not prefer. The peach-cobbler was great and I wish I had it with a vanilla-bean bucket to make it perfect. Overall, the food was good and I will definitely try again their other menu items.
I had the guns for $31.00. Do not understand them, I had 5 bones and only 2 had flesh on them and they were very cheesy. I don't know why prices are so high. Really not worth money.
I ordered the salmon belt and it was amazing! A very good portion size, will be at least 2 meals for me. My order was finished 10 minutes before the quotation period. Will be back.
I ordered chicken wings and baked salmon. My order should be finished at 5:08 and it was not ready until 5:38. After waiting 10 minutes after the expected time, I went to check my order. The reason it took a long time was because someone forgot to put the salmon in the oven in time. One of the girls in the register found that funny and laughed. I went back to my car and waited 20 minutes until I got a text that my order was ready. I have a half-hearted apology, got my food and went home. The salmon was Blande, the chicken wings seem to have been sitting in the container all the time while the salmon were cooked as they were almost room temp and not crispy. One of the chicken wings was old and edible. The crowned greens and sweet tea were the only items we got that were pleasant. I don't think I'm back. I don't think it's important to someone how late my order was. And nobody bothered the wings so they were fresh with the salmon. This is one of the few soul food points around me and it's too bad that I can't trust quality anymore.
It had been a while since visiting Ruby 's. Happy to say the taste of the food has improved. The biscuits are everything. I ordered blackened salmon with greens and black-eyed peas. My son 's order was the fried wings with greens and mac and cheese. A side of mac cheese and fried corn. So the salmon was delicious, the greens were too salty for me but my son liked the taste of them. The black-eyed peas tasted heavy and bland. Needed more seasoning. The rest of the sides ordered were delicious. The desserts (banana pudding red velvet cake) was so on point. I would recommend and go back to Ruby 's just ordering a couple of different sides. The staff was awesome, polite and courteous. Ruby 's I 'll be back.
