Have been eating at Richard’s restaurant since 15 years ago before they moved to their current address. Quality of food as been excellent throughout all these years! Highly recommend!
Really delicious food there. Nice service and kind staff. Sometimes, they have kind of Chinese style show in Friday night. Better than any of restaurant at Sunnybank.
I found out that there was a new Chinese restaurant that opened up in newstead. Always liked newstead so I thought I'd give this place a visit when I had some Asian cravings.<br/ <br/ Was a super cute and quaint spot in the corner and there wasn't anybody else when we got there close to 2pm. The lady host was friendly and lovely and attended to us perfectly.<br/ <br/ Turns out there's quite a bit of history behind the shop and you can find out more from the host or read it on the back of the menu if you're interested in that!<br/ <br/ To the food! I ordered char kway teow, stir fried scallops with seasonal vegetables, and braised beef with curry sauce. The owners declared that they do not use MSG in their cooking so I am quite happy with that.<br/ <br/ The char kway teow was lovely, I like mine without Chinese sausages and they did that perfectly. It had just the right amount of wok's breath for flavour and was not oily/heavy on the stomach. It came with combination meats and some seafood. Was an extremely lovely dish.<br/ <br/ The braised beef with curry sauce was excellent as well. The sauce was just the right amount of curry flavour but it wasn't too heavy and thick. The beef was extremely tender and almost melts in your mouth. Highly recommend beef dishes here if you love good tender cooked beef.<br/ <br/ The scallops with seasonal vegetables was phenomenal with a ginger based sauce. I am a sucker for ginger items and the ginger sauce that the dish was stir fried in was so flavourful and refreshing. Scallops were in generous portions and were plump and not overcooked.<br/ <br/ 10/10 I will be coming back to try out the other interesting dishes.
Probably the only Chinese restaurant in the New Farm/Tenerife area, so there's not too much competition but it still takes a lot to be a good Chinese restaurant. This has a very casual ambience, but can get a bit busy on weekends. Food is great! Please support this wonderful team of polite and friend staff during Covid times. I asked them if business was okay and they said no apart from weekends. Be a shame to lose them!
