Cafe De Akbars - Bradford

On Leeds Road in Bradford, there used to be Akbars Cafe and further down the original Akbars restaurant. We hadn't visited either in a while, so we were expecting to dine at the Akbars restaurant...to our surprise, the cafe has closed down and the restaurant has been transformed into Akbars Cafe. The atmosphere now resembles more of a cafe rather than a restaurant. The once sleek service and pleasant surroundings are no longer present, instead there are cramped tables, loud music, and no alcohol is served anymore. This was not an issue for us, as we always drive, but the absence of branded soft drinks was unexpected. Overall, the experience felt strange and disappointing. The food was decent, but it wasn't served hot enough. Unfortunately, we will not be returning, which is a letdown as Akbars has always been our favorite curry spot. Very disappointed.

My husband, son, and I went to Akbar's café yesterday. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the rude behavior of the waiters. Not only did we have to wait a long time for the bill, but they also took away our dishes without asking while we were still eating. The portion size of the starter was not enough for two people, and they even took chairs from our table without permission. Overall, their service definitely needs improvement.

I must say, my experience at Akbars Cafe was disappointing. I visited with friends on 3/8 and found the food to be mediocre and the service to be shockingly poor. Despite being a table of three, we felt like an inconvenience from the start. The waiter even rushed us to finish our meal, asking if we wanted a takeout box before we were done. We were given the dessert menu, but felt pressured to leave as they cleaned up around us. The bill arrived without us even asking for it. When I raised my concerns with the manager, I received a half-hearted apology before he walked away. As someone who works for a large hotel chain and selects caterers for events, I will not be recommending Akbars Cafe. This experience not only cost them three dessert orders, but also my business in the future. With so many dining options available, I would not recommend this place as it is no longer what it used to be and the service is rude.

Visited Akbar’s last night with my partner family, the service was excellent from start to finish. My waiter Jimmy W was outstanding and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was top notch highly recommend. We left feeling completely satisfied all round and definitely will be visiting again in the near future.

Worst place would not recommend I went here with my friends to open my fast even after booking the table for them to turn us around and say the table is not booked and they have no space for us. Absolutely appalling customer service nobody had the curtesy to apologise for it even though I had rung the number on their website and someone had taken my name and booked the table prior. Awful customer service and I will not be going there again neither would I recommend.
