The Mill - Bradford

What an absolute joke this place is. We’ve called on 6 occasions (multiple times), text many times (as it says to do so online), messaged them on Instagram and even left comments on their posts. We have still never been able to book a table! We’ve even done the 20 minute drive twice to the bar only to be told that they have no chef. Oh and both times, we’ve visibly seen that their mobile phone (business number) was switched off! If a business owner is that lazy then they deserve to fail! Surely the most basic part of running a restaurant is to answer the phone and take bookings. They just can’t be bothered. Shocking

We booked a 7.30 meal slot . The waitress was friendly and showed us to our table. We ordered drinks and waited ....,.An hour later we had finished our wine and despite asking the waitress several times to be told “It’s all done fresh” by way of explanation, no starters were in evidence. They eventually came but were minimal and not worthy of the long wait. My husband asked to speak to the proprietor who approached and said we’d been told the starter would be free to make up for the inconvenience, which we hadn’t. He accused my husband of being aggressive (he was pointing his finger to illustrate what he was saying but was calm and measured in the points he was making). The proprietor became more and more agitated and ended up telling us to leave and that we were barred from any future visit! A first for four senior citizens. Another couple who had arrived just after us were still waiting for their food when we left.

Fantastic place to stop. Rooms are beautifully laid out and feel luxurious. The Paris room has very comfy 4 poster bed which was really unique. And have to say the room was spotless. Staff were great and tentative. Shown to our room and shown the facilities. Highly recommend the mill .. 5 stars would stop again Adam

Excellent homemade Sunday Lunch Festive meal Great fresh Yorkshire puddings, loads of meat vegetables. Lovely friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Yummy vegetarian Mushroom Wellington too Highly recommend we will definitely return soon.

My friend had booked a table in the restaurant upstairs on a Sunday afternoon. I arrived early and bought a drink at the downstairs bar to wait for them to arrive. It was like a nursery. There were kids running around everywhere and bottles of fruit shoot on most of the tables. Fortunately my friends weren't long and we could retreat to the restaurant and relative peace and quiet. We had pre ordered our food as suggested when booking the table. One of the starters was wrong but this was quickly changed, however perhaps a bit too quickly as my halloumi was still cold. It was sent back and when it was replaced it was very nice. I had a barbecue chicken pizza for my main which was stone baked and very nice. All of our party enjoyed the food and it was very reasonably priced, however I think The Mill needs to decide on whether it is going to be a nice restaurant or a children's play centre.
