Never been disappointed with new managers. Been regularly and food has been excellent. Staff friendly and will go out of their way to please. Going again on Thursday.

Very disappointing . We went today and was so looking forward to the food . The Sunday roast was over priced for what it was .. rubbish Yorkshire’s and the meat was fatty . My friends had the burgers … again they were gristly .. overall we found it very disappointing .. the food wasn’t very warm as well . Wouldn’t eat there again

Four of us made a reservation in the morning for a Sunday lunch at 3pm. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and seated at a table that had been set aside for us. Our drinks were served promptly, but the food service was slow afterwards. We all ordered the beef main course, which took a while to come out and was just average. When we finally received the dessert menus, we were disappointed to find that there were only five uninteresting options, including Christmas cake and Christmas pudding - in the middle of January! We considered ordering dessert, but after waiting 15 minutes for our server to take our order, we decided to skip it. We mentioned the slow service to the bar manager, who claimed that the drinks and food operations were separate and not his responsibility. There were only six other diners in the restaurant at the time, so there is definitely room for improvement if we were to consider returning.

The new owners of this traditional pub have done an excellent job revitalizing the place. It is now clean and serves delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere is welcoming and it is definitely worth a visit. We hope that the effort to improve this pub is recognized. The Sunday lunch menu looks wonderful.
