After sightseeing we noticed a sign saying “cafe/restaurant,Hotel Elvador ” The restaurant has the most amazing panoramic views. We walked in and asked if we could have some lunch, expecting a light lunch menu! We were shown a table and surprised to have an extensive choice of delicious sounding dishes. The waiter convinced us to try the fish soup,it was served with an element of drama and didn’t disappoint, great flavours. The lamb chops were tender, seasoned well and perfectly cooked. My linguine was a generous portion with fresh seasonal vegetables and herbs. All the food was piping hot and the dishes warm. Our desserts were amazing and looked like a work of art! So our “cafe “ snack turned out to be one of the loveliest lunch we’ve ever had, fantastic food and great views. The staff were friendly and informative,we loved their passion for the local cuisine and produce.
We arrived late (20:45) wiout having a reserved table and were served very nicely. The staff had the ability to provide service in english which is unexpected in portugal. The food was great and the view was amaxing. The best dinning we had in portugal !!!
Service was a little slow. Lunch buffet of traditional Portuguese foods. A great way to sample something new! Food was warm and fresh. View is fantastic. A little pricey for taking picky kids but they loved the dessert options!
Gorgeous presentation and superb quality of duck with delicate mashed potatoes, gravy, currants, a fewcspare rasberries and blueberries, and various vegetables prepared al dente. A delicious pasta, buttery with delicate herb seasoning and vegetables and pasta cooked perfectly al dente. Lovely view.
