At Christmas time I was given a Starbucks gift card and decided to put it to use. I went online, and found that the Barnes and Noble down the street had a Starbucks in it. Went in and ordered a large Ice Coffee, when I went to pay I was informed they are not technically a Starbucks although the famous Starbucks design is plastered everywhere. So, they do not accept Starbucks gift cards. The woman behind me in line overheard and left the line as she also had a Starbucks Giftcard. She was a bit more irritated in leaving the line and said that it was false advertising...... Ended up paying 4 bucks for a crappy cup of Iced Coffee.
I've always had great experiences here. The seating area is clean, the coffee is great made just like any Starbucks, the goodies are delicious and fresh, and the employees are fast, efficient, and pleasant. I normally take my coffee to go after making a purchase. Sometimes there's a line at the front of the store and I go checkout at the cafe even if I'm not getting coffee. The baristas are very accommodating and ring me up without issue.
The people that work here are beyond rude. I am not interested in hearing about their relationship woes, racist comments and how people don't tip enough. For some reason I am not surprised.
Standard Starbucks coffee. Service is quick and friendly. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they didn't have my usual sugar free hazelnut syrup.
However, I watched as the barista began making a banana smoothie and assembling a sandwich, while my empty tea cup remained untouched on the counter. The cashier took two more orders after mine and then stood at the register, seemingly lost in thought, while my paid-for tea continued to sit ignored beside him. Growing impatient, I got up and approached the counter where drinks are served, staring at my neglected cup. Eventually, the guy behind the register seemed to finally notice and came over to prepare my drink. It was at that moment I noticed his disheveled appearance—messy hair, a wrinkled and slightly dirty shirt—he honestly looked like he had just rolled out of bed minutes before his shift started. I finally received my tea bag and hot water, but not before he rubbed his presumably unwashed hands over the lid. Thanks for that. I suppose I shouldn’t have expected too much from the Fauxbucks Café at Barnes and Noble.
