We then decided to have lunch at The Thick restaurant on the ground floor at noon, which turned out to be a great choice. We had a table overlooking the river and I thoroughly enjoyed the game pie from the lunch specials board, which was clearly homemade with fresh veggies and creamy mash. My friend opted for the salmon with chive butter sauce, served with new potatoes and green beans from the a la carte menu. For dessert, we both indulged in the sticky toffee pudding with fudge sauce, which was absolutely delicious. The menu also offered lighter snacks, coffee, and cake. The service from the young waiter was attentive and the prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend this experience, as it combines a large antiques center with an excellent restaurant.
I have been a fan of John Dickens for 25 years and recently visited his restaurant in Wethersfield. I regularly drive to Halstead to enjoy the excellent food and the mill is in a great location with a beautiful atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
A wonderful place for a relaxed family dinner, a beautiful atmosphere with interesting views and decor. eating is first class, the personal is friendly and very professional. excellent value for money and highly recommended for a visit.
I have never had a bad meal here! The food is excellent, freshly cooked, and tastes amazing. This is my favorite place to eat in the city and the surrounding area.
