Nice tea room in quaint village. Friendly service. Outdoor seating for social distancing, feels very safe. Proper tea made with tea leaves. However, the cake we had was a huge disappointment. Victoria sponge was dry and crumbly, not a proper fresh cream filling but a thin smear of buttercream and similar thin smear of jam. Cakes used to be homemade here and were always delicious but this one fell short. Would happily have tea here but will avoid cake in future.
Had spotted this tea room on a cycle ride but came here as part of a walk around the area. We were welcomed as if we were regulars, which was delightful. The menu is simple but ideal for a pit stop for walkers and cyclists. The bacon sandwich in tiger bread was delicious and the lattés were frothy and of the perfect temperature. This is a cute little tearoom with outside space too and plenty of space to park your bike. We will definitely return.
We visited on the Sunday of the May Bank Holiday weekend. I had a tuna cheese toastie, my wife had the ploughman’s. The filling of my toastie was cold, quite clearly two pieces of toast had just been put together and the filling added. The ploughman’s was terrible. No cheese scone, fair enough but the bread replacement wasn’t fresh. The contents of the ploughman’s was very poor, two thin slices of cheese and one tiny slice of processed ham, the salad was virtually non existent. This was our third or fourth visit, previously it was excellent. Nobody asked us if everything was ok, which is not good. We came away extremely disappointed.
This is such a lovely tea room. The staff are all really nice. The cakes are amazing. If you prefer to sit outside and it is a bit chilly the lovely staff will lend you a hot water bottle and a blanket
