We recently tried takeout from there and the food was outstanding as always, especially the Paneer Butter Masala. My only gripe is with the portion size, which is usually on the smaller side - barely enough for two people. However, this time the portion was surprisingly good. While their specialty is South Indian cuisine, they also offer a variety of North Indian and Indo Chinese dishes.
I'll be brief: 1. Atmosphere: Poor 2. Food: Mediocre at best 3. Service: Below average, enter at your own risk!
The restaurant is located in a small strip mall with a very poor ambiance. The tables lacked tablecloths and the cutlery was wrapped in cheap paper napkins. The door made a loud noise every time it opened. We were expecting a South Indian specialty restaurant, but the menu was unattractive with a limited selection of South Indian dishes. Our Rava Masala Dosa arrived as a long empty crepe with only a small portion of potato filling on the side. We had to pay an additional $3.95 for more filling. The portions of sambar were also very small. The dosa cost $10.95 and was served in a triangular shape. Despite being told it was mild, the dosa was quite spicy. The taste was only average. We do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
We were at 3:00 on the weekend. It took a while to sit down as the buffet has to be ready. We ordered Mutton Biriyani and Fish thali. Biriyani was decent and Fish Thalli was not exceptional for the price of the Talli. We also ordered a plate of Methu Vadai- 3 small vases that were soaked in oil. The vases were not worth $7 or $8
Good food with south Indian varieties but prices are a bit high. Nice place without too much crowding. Reasonable time to serve food after ordering.
