The gentleman who served me welcomed me in a friendly South African accent and explained all take-out options and cooking time etc. I choose a Lamb Curry. This is undoubtedly the best meat cake I've ever had. The fluffy cake crust was perfectly baked to a golden brown. Underneath, was a rich filling with exotic flavors and textures. When can I come back? With a huge selection of cakes I can choose from, I can see that my expulsions were good for the foreseeable future. This is centrally located in North Brampton, close to the main traffic routes. Don't go through this place without picking up a cake or two.
Oh my goodness! These cakes are absolutely amazing! We're sold! They are packed with meat (and vegetables) without any fillers and they come in a variety of flavors. We tried 6 different ones and loved every single one of them.
I absolutely love these cakes! My favorite is the butter chicken because I can't get enough of it. They are all delicious with fluffy, high quality meat. At just $6 each or 6 for $30, they are a great value. In my opinion, it's not expensive at all, especially when compared to some fast food options. You should definitely give them a try - I'm totally addicted, just like the website says!
If we need to fix a cake, there are two places we go – St Jacobs Market or The Pie Guyz. We live in Mississauga, so Pie Guyz is more handy. In addition to their shop in Brampton, I saw them at the Brampton Farmers Market, the Terra Greenhouses Farmers Market in Milton and a few times at Rib N Roll, the Rotary Brampton Rib Fest. We almost always buy the 6 for the price of 5 deal and freeze a few. My wife tends to be less spicy; it usually goes for steak and mushroom. I prefer the Chicken Vindaloo with the occasional ubiquitous butter Chicken or the very good steak and Kidney. I agree with another critic that a cake does not make a meal, but if I add a side salad, I am happy. A small house made Rita does not hurt either, especially with the Chicken Vindaloo.
The meat pies at this restaurant are delicious, but you need to order quite a few to feel satisfied. My wife and I had lunch there, ordering a few small items, but we still left hungry. The cost of the meal was high for the amount of food we received. We could have had a much more filling lunch at another restaurant for the same price.
