Bop's Frozen Custard - Brandon

The staff here is extremely friendly, and the place has always been spotlessly clean during my visits. I've always been a fan of Bop's, and their concretes are definitely my favorite!

Bops is famous for their Snappy Turtle, but their menu offers so much more. They have a wonderful variety of sno-cones, tamales, concretes, and more. This location features a drive-thru and is situated in the same plaza as El Potrillo on Highway 80 in Brandon. Bops has around a dozen locations, all founded by someone from our community, making it a locally owned business. There's also another nearby location in Flowood.

The staff here is always very pleasant! I absolutely love the ice cream, shaved ice, and especially the shaved ice stuffed with custard—it’s all fantastic! I also appreciate that my dog gets a special treat when we visit. They even make sure my 20-year-old pup, who can’t ride with me, gets a treat as well! Sometimes the wait can be a bit long, and it seems like they might be understaffed at times. This is why I’m giving it a 4-star rating, but overall, it's a wonderful place to stop!

This is some of the best ice cream you can find! If you've been considering giving it a try, do yourself a favor and go for it. My top picks are Amazing Grace, which is a delicious blackberry cheesecake, and Katie's Crunch, made with Heath bar, butterscotch sauce, and roasted pecans. It's absolutely fantastic!

The young staff members who were working there when I visited really let me down. If I go back, I won’t be placing an order. It was the worst service I've ever encountered! I've been a regular at BOPs for years, and I never expected to have such a negative experience. While I enjoyed the food, the overall process and service were chaotic.
