I moved away for 17 years but upon moving back I went back for a visit. Food is still awesome. Up in price from the early 90’s, but what isn’t ? Their salsa and chips are the best I have ever had and hands down the best Mexican food in the Jackson Metroplex. When my job brings me this way I always go for take out !
Beat Mexican in town. Not much to look at but you don’t eat the ambience. And it’s not very healthy. Uh, this isn’t a Planet Fitness review. It’s Mexican food and it’s extraordinary.
The chips and salsa is literally the best thing ...the rice and beans are horrible..take my word ,go somewhere else
The restaurant has a terrible odor like old fish. The salsa taste like what I can buy at Walmart. The entree I got was ok. I wanted fajitas, waitress says they are out.
A local friend recommended this as the best authentic Mexican restaurant around. It’s a small place and doesn’t impress from the outside, but sometimes those have the best food. However I was underwhelmed. I got the enchiladas with spicy beef inside and queso on top (I forget the actual name). The beef wasn’t spicy and the queso was lukewarm and bland. The salsa and chips were good. The chips come seasoned and is supposedly one of the things they’re known for. I’d like to think there are plenty of better Mexican restaurants around, or I would hope so.
