The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Brantford

The food was good, but significantly overpriced. It's essentially street food trying to pass itself off as upscale. The atmosphere is noisy and lacking in any sophistication. We only dined here because of a gift card; otherwise, we would have opted for a more affordable option across the street. I feel compelled to write this review due to the audacity of charging an extra dollar for bacon on a Caesar Salad that was supposed to be included in my meal. It's unacceptable for a restaurant to engage in such questionable business practices. It's disappointing to see an establishment think it's acceptable to do so.

My party and I dined at The Keg in Hamilton on Saturday, January 21st and enjoyed a delicious meal. We were celebrating a birthday and when we went to settle the bill, we were told that our 12-digit gift card purchased from Shoppers Drug Mart during the holidays was not accepted. This was surprising as I have been a loyal customer of The Keg for years and have never had any issues using gift cards before. After doing some research online, it seems that others have had the same issue. I left a voicemail for The Keg expressing my concerns and hope to receive a positive response soon. Just wanted to mention that I am a regular patron of The Keg and am looking forward to a timely resolution.

We were a large group of 12 people and initially, the restaurant was unsure if they could accommodate us. However, Angela, the manager, graciously found us a room and warmly welcomed us. As our group grew to 15 people, both our server, Thomas, and Angela were accommodating and brought us an additional table. We appreciated the effort. The food was good, despite being a chain restaurant, and we felt welcomed by the exceptional service. The desserts were both enormous and delicious. We would definitely return to dine here again.

After waiting for a server for a long time, James noticed that we sat without drinks and asked if someone had been by to see us. He immediately took our drinks orders, although it wasn't his department and he escaped the duty. He assured that we received our drinks and appy's immediately and then introduced us to our server. The management was very apologetic for our waiting and the rest of our evening was excellent. The food was great. What would have been a disappointing time to be a wonderful evening with friends.

I would give a very good rating to my choice of prime rib and twiced baked potato but a fair to the restaurant's side choice of dry frizzled onions. As I have noted in a previous review I find the menu slightly overpriced.
