Get off at Wayne Gretzky Parkway and drive south to Joy Sushi. I didn't think a sushi place would do well in Brantford, or that the quality would be similar to what I've had in Toronto. I was wrong on both counts, and now frequent Joy Sushi at least twice a month with my family, if not more often. The sushi and sashimi are both fresh and well prepared, and the tempura is light, delicate and delicious. There is an automated ordering service (you select your items from an IPad-type device featuring photos of each dish, send the order to the kitchen, and it magically appears at your table a few minutes later) which makes selecting your meal a breeze. There's also a wide selection of small desserts (I order three or four as they don't amount to much by themselves, but are very satisfying in a group) to end your meal. The service is polite, timely and friendly, and the décor is simple and understated. I am especially impressed by the fact that the quality is consistent - you know what you will get, every time you go. Joy Sushi is a welcome addition to the Brantford culinary scene, and I highly recommend it.
My wife and i do not eat sushi but decided to try this venue and were elated with our meal. The cuisine is amazing with much more then sushi, and ,service, ordering system, price, food selection etc. is beyond amazing. We will be going to this restaurant at least 3 to 4 times a month it's that good..
It's the same as most sushi places, but what I do like is the ordering system. You have a tablet at your table to select and place your orders. I feel this makes it much faster to get your food. Some things I don't like so much - there is a limited selection in comparison to another chain sushi place in town. Thing I was disappointed in - my 5 y/o had 3 pieces of wonton noodles after saying she didn't want anything. They would not let me pay a la carte for them and charged me child's dinner rate of $17. For three crab and cheese wontons!!!! come on! At least at sushi eight they would have done the a la carte. NOw Joy sushi prices are a few dollars more than previously mentioned establishment, but their child low rate is up to 4 y/o for $4 instead of at the other being 3 y/o $4.Hope you find this helpful, don't forget the helpful vote.
Stopped there last Saturday, for dinner. It's a lovely restaurant and very clean. The restaurant was very busy. The hostess showedt us how to use the IPad to order our food. We ordered 28 items and all of them were really, really good and tasty. The food is served very fast and hot. You can order and re-order the dishes that you like. It is a fixed price, all you can eat, drinks are extra. We both loved it and will got there as often as we can!
Absolutely amazing, food quality is superior! You can really taste the difference from other ayce sushi, this one is on my the list. Well done Joy Sushi!
