Rating: 4<br/ What drew me to this brunch spot at this quiet shopping mall was its aesthetics and calm atmosphere. I loved the seating area, where you could see the cars driving past the busy intersection and going about their day as we were embracing the life as Melbournians. <br/ <br/ The restaurant offers a variety of dishes branching off from different cultures with a twist, which I love. <br/ <br/ We ordered the chicken katsu sandwich and the magic truffle mushrooms. It does cost a little expensive, but it all makes sense with their fun plating of food and the modern setting of the cafe. <br/ <br/ The chicken katsu sandwich was a child’s favourite guilty pleasure. Fried chicken and fries yummy! Crispy coating around the fried chicken with bread crumbs, with the inside ready to burst its explosive juices. It was seasoned well, and it went well with the buttered bread roll. I loved the proportion of the chicken and the bread, allowing the chicken katsu to shine. The teriyaki sauce, however, was a tad sour and salty. <br/ <br/ The magic truffle mushrooms was exceptional presentation and taste. I loved the salted crispy kale that went so well with the creamy egg yolk and the hint of truffle oil. The spread of the smokey tomato sauce balanced the whole dish by cutting through the saltiness of the dish with its tangy kick, really elevating the dish to another level. There was so much different textures, and that’s what pulls me in when I order a dish. The crumbly feta, and crispy polenta hash, the creaminess of the egg, and the crunch from the kale and mushroom strands. One little flaw may be the mushroom duxelle was a bit tough. Overall, this dish really highlights the beauty of mushrooms through its beautiful plating and synergic flavours. I recommend this dish. <br/ <br/ I have yet to dry other dishes but they do an amazing job with plating. Came here for family brunch, used my zomato gold perk of 20% off bill. But there is also a 10% surcharge on weekends. Nice and clean interior with a family friendly environment. As for service, I would say 8/10 could have had a friendlier encounter but the server may have been abit shy or new? Ordered a masala sticky chai which the server was not familiar between the difference of powder chai lattes and sticky steeped chai to then find out 10 minutes later that they did not have any more masala chai available.<br/ <br/ Korean fried chicken baos: Very soft baos, bao bbq sauce was very sweet and overpowering, but the chicken was cooke perfectly and was great. Presentation of the plate could’ve been improved perhaps with re plating and rearrangement of ingredients and more colour to make it more appealing but overall 8/10<br/ <br/ Magic truffle mushrooms (added chorizo): Good dish for mushroom lovers, but plating was abit messy. Polenta “chips” were okay, could’ve improved by having a crispier outside and more seasoning. 7.5/10<br/ <br/ STN big breakky: A classic for the breakfast basics, simple flavours for a filling meal. The potato rosemary hash was abit undercooked and oily, would be better if it was cooked abit more and crispier. 7/10<br/ <br/ Pulled pork eggs benny croissant: This dish was abit overpowering. The pulled pork was oddly very sweet and salty, abit too much with the seasoning. Needed some more light and fresh ingredients to balance out the dish. 6.5/10<br/ <br/ Overall, a nice cafe to have a relaxing brunch or a coffee with a friend. Nice white and emerald green interior for a clean and fresh look.
